David Allen – The Power of I AM, Vol 2, Part 7

The ancients knew that the secret name of God had power. Now we do.

David Allen - The Power of I AM 2

You must separate yourself from all your external faculties, from your mind, from your body, because they are but instruments that you use. The Consciousness must analyze everything external to itself. When you say “I AM,” realize that it is the Real. The “I AM” enables you to move, think, act; and you are using your instruments as a means of expression.

We have a right to choose what we shall induce in Mind. The way in which our thoughts are to become manifest, we cannot always see . . or should we be disturbed that we do not see the way . . because effect is potential in cause. “I AM Alpha and Omega” and all that comes between cause and effect. Cause and effect are really one, and if we have a given cause set in motion, the effect will have to equal the cause. One is the inside and the other the outside of the same thing. A certain, specific, intelligent idea in Mind, will produce a certain, specific, concrete manifestation equal to itself. There is One Infinite Principle, One Infinite Thought-Stuff, One Infinite Creative Power, but countless numbers of forms, which change as the specific idea behind them changes.

I AM a creative being. I create by thinking ideas and at the same time knowing that there is a Force at my disposal which is universal, wise, and loving in its nature. I choose my ideas and think them. The Force brings them forth. I can create as much as I can think.

Subjectivity is entirely receptive and neutral as we have learned, and It can take our thoughts only the way we think them . . It has no alternative. If I say, “I AM unhappy,” and continue to say it, the subconscious mind says, “Yes, you are unhappy,” and keeps me unhappy as long as I say it, for thoughts are things, and an active thought will provide an active condition for good or evil. Suppose one has thought poverty year after year, he has thereby personified a law which continues to perpetuate this condition. If the thought is not erased the condition will remain. A law has been set in motion which says “I AM poor,” and sees to it that this is so. This is at first an autosuggestion, then it becomes an unconscious memory, working day and night. This is what decides how the Law of Attraction works for us, because the laws of attraction and repulsion are entirely subjective. Our use of them may be conscious to start with, but it becomes subconscious as soon as used.

Your Consciousness enables you to speak, breathe, walk, talk, etc., and the Intelligence fulfills the act. The Consciousness directs the motion, and the Intelligence completes it. You see the manifestation of Nature, you do not see Nature herself; you do not see Intelligence, but you see the action of Intelligence . . or the energy resulting from the action, which is the form in Substance. The Substance is, and always will be, perfect in itself, although the form might not be perfect. “According to your faith so be it unto you.” “Be ye perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” This really means that in the Divine Consciousness . . the Perfect Image exists.

If you have perfect faith, the Perfect Intelligence will express the Perfect Image in the Perfect Substance by its own perfect action. This is the true Law of Life as taught by Jesus Himself. It is not the Substance you have to change, nor the Consciousness, nor the Intelligence, but the form that you created in the Substance. Do you understand? This is very deep, but very simple. When you understand this you will never again be lost in dogma, creed nor philosophy. It does not matter one iota whether they are true or not true. The essential thing is this, GOD IS and I AM . . YOU ARE. Through faith and belief we transcend our experiences and the experiences of others, and enter into the realm of Divine Action, where all is possible.

“As the spirit of good (God). There is a consciousness within man ever affirming: I AM Love, I AM Spirit, Truth, Wisdom, Knowledge and Power, all expressing in the one manifestation Love.” “Is it possible to comprehend love?” “We can neither see nor comprehend that mysterious something man terms love.” “How can man direct, control and express his latent forces?” “By a wise understanding of nature’s laws, and a consciousness that he possesses all power, and as he progresses along the path he will recognize the finer vibrations; and in time the exoteric plane will fade from view and its place will be filled with spiritual truths, in the midst of which he lives and has his being.”

“How can he attain this spiritual attitude?” “By intelligently directing the One creative power, Thought” the ability to think and to be that which he thinks.” “Is there any law in nature which will aid in this spiritual development?” “Yes; the Law of affirmation and suggestion. A wise understanding of these Laws will make man a master who will proclaim his own fate.”

The “I AM” is both individual and universal, that is, the individual “I” is part of the Universal “I AM.” The “I AM consciousness” means that part of thought, both conscious and subjective, which not only affirms its unity with God, but which also understands the meaning of its affirmation.

There is a Force everywhere about and within you. This Force is infinite, universal, all-loving and wise, all-powerful, alive, full of life, life itself. Think to yourself . . I AM. I live and am quite definitely myself. I can create. I do my creating through my thinking. I AM a thinker. This Force moves according to my thinking, pushes my idea forth into form. The more faith, determination, persistence, harmony, good will, reverence, and gratitude I feel, the better this Force is able to push my hopes and aspirations toward fulfillment. I would be all I can be. I can be as much as I can think. I must deliberately make the effort to think the best, highest, finest, biggest that I can. My thinking frees me from my difficulties.

The Substance of the Great “I AM” is the perfect Substance out of which all things are made, brought forth by Consciousness and Intelligence in the Substance. This perfect Substance is the foundation of and supports all forms. In the Consciousness the Divine Idea exists; the Intelligence completes the Idea in detail, and the Idea is expressed in the Substance in all planes of manifestation, including the spiritual, mental, astral and physical planes, each being but a modification of the one above it. Substance having no power of its own, changes, fulfilling the expression of the Intelligence directed by the Consciousness. God is all there is . . Consciousness, Intelligence and Substance. God is expressing Himself through the particular center of Consciousness that you are. Everything is given form by consciousness . . your consciousness is the Consciousness of God. It is the realization of this that enables you to say “I and the Father are one.”

We express as much of God as we intelligently know of Him; and it is our daily duty to use the God-power He has invested in us to express Him in the highest form we know, by every word, deed, action and thought; and by loving all humanity, of which we are a part. Every time we fail to do this, all of humanity fails; and every time we progress, all of humanity progresses . . because there is but One.

If we have health, happiness, love and prosperity, we are expressing God. If we have disease, unhappiness, jealousy and poverty, we are not expressing the highest we are capable of; therefore, we are not expressing God intelligently.

To express the highest of anything, we must first know and understand the lowest operative part of that thing or condition. Knowing this, we must set to work and separate the low from the high, or the good from the evil; and to do this intelligently, we must first know what is really good and what is really evil; and this knowledge is only gained by coining into a higher and more understandable consciousness of what God is; and then to work from that point . . knowing that God is your Higher Self and your physical body is your child. You are the master of it, the body; or, it is the master of you, the thinker. Which is it with you? Which is the master?

If you have meditated correctly, as I have explained to you, on the I AM, or the God within; you will know which is the master . . you, the thinker, or your physical body. When you are positive that you, the thinker, have complete control over all of your physical and material desires, sensations and emotions, then, and only then, are you the master.
