David Allen – The Power of I AM, Vol 2, Part 24

The ancients knew that the secret name of God had power. Now we do.

David Allen - The Power of I AM 2

Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. The Truth can only be known as the entire consciousness is surrendered to the Universal Mind which is Oneness, Wholeness and Completeness. The Law must be fulfilled in our consciousness by the clear perception that I AM is all. Merely thinking the Truth never changes anyone. It is the conscious knowing of the Truth that changes man from a material to a spiritual basis. Knowing the Truth means to have the true idea of Principle or God and the true idea of man. The word Principle used so frequently in our lessons means the Law of the I AM, Universal Mind, Spiritual Substance, the Omnipresent, Omnipotence and Omniscience of our own Minds. One cannot think of the word Principle without losing the thought of the personal. Since the true nature of God is impersonal, the word will gradually clear the concept of a personal God subject to all the limitations which personality connotes.

How would you conduct yourself if you fully realized your oneness with I AM, if you could truly believe that He is constantly offering you life, love and every good thing your heart can desire? Well, that is exactly what He is doing! So act as if you already had the thing you want. Visualize it as yours. See the picture clearly in every detail in your mind’s eye. Then LET I AM make it manifest. Do what you can, of course, with what you have, where you are, but put your dependence upon I AM, and LET His good gifts come to you.

Let us think together now for our bodies. Let u go within the chamber of mind. Let us close our eyes and let us think . . I AM creative through my thinking, for what I think I attract. I AM turning to the force of I AM for my help. I, looking toward this presence of Force, am thinking PERFECT BODY. As I think perfect body, I speak lovingly to the Force. Our Force that is within us, holy and sacred is Thy nature. Come forth now in my body as I AM thinking PERFECT BODY. Come forth as perfection.

Now pause for a few moments and think over this wonderful fact . . All the Energy in the Universe is “I AM”; all the “I AM” in the Universe is Success. It was Moses who realized his oneness with this power when, as stated in the third chapter of Exodus, he became fully conscious of . . “I AM” That “I AM.” “I AM” is impersonal and since Man is that “I AM,” Man is impersonal and is always one with this omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient Power.

“You did not choose me, I have chosen you.” My concept of myself molds a world in harmony with itself and draws men to tell me constantly by their behavior who I AM.

But how, you may ask, can I convince my Higher Self that I have riches or any other good thing, when my common sense tells me that I am in debt up to my ears and creditors are hounding me day and night?

You can’t . . if you keep thinking and acting DEBTS. But here is a psychological fact: The Higher Self accepts as fact anything that is repeated to it in convincing tones often enough. And once it has accepted any statement as fact, it proceeds to do everything possible to MAKE IT TRUE!

That is the whole purpose of affirmations . . to bring the I AM in You to accept as true the conditions that you desire, to the end that He will then proceed to bring them into being. It is a sort of autosuggestion. You keep saying to yourself that you ARE rich, that you HAVE the things you desire, until the constant repetition is accepted by the Higher Self and translated into its physical equivalent.

Debts? Don’t worry about them. Remember that the shadow of growing grain kills the weeds. Keep your mind on the good you want and it will kill off the evil you fear, just as the turning on of light dispels darkness. A farmer does not have to hoe the weeds out of growing wheat, any more than you have to sweep the darkness out of a room. Neither do you have to worry about debts or lack. Put all your thoughts and all your faith in the riches you are praying for (you feel you already have), and let them dispel the debts.

But don’t worry if you can’t summon such faith right out of the blue. Most of us have to lead up to it gradually. Start with Coue’s well-known affirmation . . “Every day in every way we are getting richer and richer.” Use that to prepare your Higher Self for the stronger affirmations. Then, when your faith has grown stronger, claim the thing you want! Affirm that you HAVE it . . and insofar as possible, ACT AS THOUGH YOU HAD IT!

Write it in your heart that each day is the best day of the year, that NOW is the accepted time, NOW is the day of salvation. Then thank God for the good you have been praying for, believe that you HAVE received and give thanks.

Remember this: I AM, God’s will always works when you offer no resistance to it. So pray . . and then LET His good come to you. Don’t fight the conditions about you. Don’t try to overcome the obstacles in your path. BLESS them . . know that I AM is in them . . that if you will LET them, they will work WITH you for good. Have faith not only in God, but in people and things. Don’t look for a miracle to happen. Don’t expect an angel from Heaven to come and open the way. Know that God works through ordinary people and things, and it is through them that your good will come.

So bless THEM. Serve them as you would the Lord, doing each thing that is given you to do as though you were the greatest genius. And all day long, as the thought occurs to you, keep repeating to yourself . . “Every day in every way I AM getting richer and richer,” or whatever it is that you desire.

You walk in the consciousness, your own I AMness, of being that which you want to be, no one sees it as yet, but you do not need a man to roll away the problems and the obstacles of life in order to express that which you are conscious of being.

He that losses his life shall find it in the Universal Source. The only thing that can be lost (set aside) are the false belief of the limited personal self. Divine Substance and Power cannot function in a divided or personal consciousness. The mind must be One and the attitude impersonal before we can experience the Power. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. The Impersonal Life is the I AM or spiritual consciousness, which says, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily. The cross represents the Universal Mind of God through which the false beliefs of personal consciousness are denied or set aside by the God Consciousness. By lifting one’s thought to the Universal Mind, one crosses out all that is opposed to or at variance with God.

A sick body is made so by destructive thoughts and emotions.

Think in this manner . . I, the free, divine thinker that I AM . . I, looking at my body and seeing the damage that has been done, can repair, remake, rebuild if I refuse to indulge in the thoughts and emotions which have caused the damage and reverse the order of my thinking and feeling. I AM creative in my power to think for always I can draw into my thinking the force which is about and in and through me. Have faith in this truth, trust in it, practice it. Success depends upon using this creative law. Now create the perfect body idea. Forget the criticisms, fears, resentments, discouragements and heartaches.

There is one point I desire to impress upon the mentality ere we go further: It is very natural, when first entering the silence to mentally criticize the progress of others . . to imagine we are greater or have gone higher than the “other fellow.” Comparisons are unworthy of the thought, and are classed in the not “I” series and indicate a lack of development. Simply ignore all consideration of others and realize the fact that “I” AM Wisdom. “I” AM Knowledge. “I” AM Power. “I” AM Divine. “I” am a center around which all else must circle.

In just the degree that the pupil realizes he is a center will he be able to manifest its drawing power, which awakens in the soul a desire to scale the summit and plant Truth’s banner on the heights. Let the pupil realize from the center of his being comes the great power of concentration, which is the first step on the road to realization, and in order to concentrate, the pupil must compel himself to pay attention. Attention is concentration. No one ever concentrated who said, “I AM going to concentrate.” Forget what you are going to do and the thing is done.

Through the imagining power of Divine Mind, Spirit propels Itself into creation. Will power is never creative; to suppose that God had to will things into being would be to suppose an opposite or contending force to God. The Substance that you have extracted from your original and associated ideas must now be reproduced in form. It must be translated from the invisible into the visible. It must be materialized so that you can possess it in a tangible way. Each step brings you nearer to the object of your desire. The Universal Substance that you are causing to stand around you idea, whose center is I AM, is permeable, impressible, plastic, retentive and sensitive. The I AM, or Spirit, will vitalize any picture that you visualize. It will draw from the Universal Substance whatever is necessary for its material fulfillment.

I AM truth, and living is but my growing conscious of myself. With what torch of truth I discover the universe I discover myself. I cannot go beyond what I AM. The universe cannot speak but in my own language. Only as it is native to me are its meanings wisdom and power within me. What truth I AM, that truth is God to me.

Man should affirm to himself “I AM not passing with time, because time does not pass; time is. I AM living in the now, and the now continues eternally to be the now. I AM living and growing now, but I AM not passing towards age. There is no age, and I do not pass; I AM.” When man develops the “I AM” consciousness, he will attain the realization of what he is now; he will discern that his present nature is limitless in possibility, and that the conscious possession of more and more of the richness of his nature will come, not from more and more years of development, but from more and more present realization. He will discern that he may accomplish whatever he has in mind by perpetually increasing his present realization of what is latent in his nature now. He will not look to the future for greater attainments, but to the growth of the present, and will consequently concentrate the whole of attention upon the now. To live in the realization of the now, with no direct thought of the past or the future, is to eliminate from mind the “passing of time” attitude; and when this attitude is removed the consciousness of age will disappear completely.

“I AM the door”… all that ever came before me are thieves and robbers” shows me that my consciousness is the one and only entrance into the world of expression; that by assuming the consciousness of being or possessing the thing which I desire to be or possess is the only way by which I can become it or possess it; that any attempt to express this desirable state in ways other than by assuming the consciousness of being or possessing it, is to be robbed of the joy of expression and possession.

And if you want to know the Lost Word of Power . . the secret name of God . . it is “I AM “. “Before Abraham,” said Jesus, “was I AM.” And throughout the Old Testament, you find frequent references to God as the eternal I AM.

That is the secret of success in all prayer, in everything you do . . that there is only one present, only one bit of time you need to worry about . . the everlasting NOW. Whatsoever things ye ask for when ye pray, believe that ye RECEIVE them.” Not, mind you, that you are going to get them in some dim and distant future, but that you HAVE them now!

You are part of the great I AM. You HAVE everything of good now. You ARE perfect. You HAVE health and strength and power and riches and happiness. It remains only for you to make this manifest. How are you to do this?

1 — By sowing your seeds of the harvest you wish to reap. (Claiming your desire is a present reality)

2 — By cultivating it through serenity and faith.

3 — By visualization . . seeing in your mind’s eye the abundant harvest you are praying for.

4 — By thanking I AM for it.
