David Allen – The Power of I AM, Vol 2, Part 14

The ancients knew that the secret name of God had power. Now we do.

David Allen - The Power of I AM 2

When we look into the creative way of the spirit we find it impossible for denial to enter, as the Spirit recognizes no opposite to its own nature. It knows that “I AM and beside me there is no other.” The Spirit does not deny anything, it simply affirms itself to be that which it desires to be. Seeing and recognizing no opposite to itself, it finds no need of denial, indeed, this thought need not enter the mind; if we are working with the Spirit we need not deny but state the affirmative attitude of mind, realizing that we are dealing with the only power that exists.

There is a subtle danger in using denials; we may deny to such an extent as to erect a barrier or build a mountain to overcome. Once realize that God makes things out of Himself simply by speaking, and you will never again use denials in treating. All that needs changing is the false thought, and by affirming that your word destroys everything but itself you will embody all that a denial could. In those systems that teach denials we find that the more enlightened ones are gradually using the affirmative method, and as this is the growth of experience there can be no doubt that it is the better method. Of one thing we may be sure, the Spirit never denies. It simply knows that I AM.

Why is it possible for one person to do what another person cannot do? Because the one realizes and recognizes it possible and the other does not. When you realize that there is only one Consciousness, one Intelligence, one Substance (God Infinite), and that you are an expression of God Infinite, you can say: “I and the Father are one” . . in body, in mind, in spirit. But when you accept separation, you usurp the authority of the great “I AM” . . God. When you usurp that authority you begin thinking imperfectly, and, by that same “I AM” within you, you bring forth that which is not perfect. How is it possible to bring forth that which is perfect?

Allow God, with His Perfect Intelligence, to work through you. The simplicity of it is so great that it overwhelms us. Aspiration is the method you must use to begin with, then you become filled with Divine Love, Wisdom and Power which act together in perfect harmony, and growth becomes as natural as that of the flowers.

We must first be before we can do, and we can do only to the extent to which we are. We cannot express powers which we do not possess; so that our doing necessarily coincides with the quality of our being. Therefore the Divine Verb reproduces the Divine Substantive by a natural sequence. It is generated by the Divine “I AM,” and for this reason it is called “The Son of God.” So we see that The Verb, The Word, and The Son of God, are all different expressions for the same Power.

The formation or wording of an affirmation should be left to the individual, and in each instance that affirmation should give expression to the highest conception of truth that has been attained. An affirmation should not deal with relative truth, but with absolute truth; and the difference can be illustrated by the two statements, “I AM better,” and “I AM well.” The statement, “I AM better,” is a relative truth, it deals with a changing state and no changing state can serve as a permanent ideal for right thinking. Therefore, such affirmations are of very little value.

The statement, “I AM well,” is an absolute truth, because in the absolute or in the perfect all is well; and we can conceive of no higher ideal in the world of wholeness than that of being absolutely well. Such a statement therefore gives expression to the real truth as it is, and will also inspire the mind to produce thought and mental states in the exact likeness of that truth.

When the man outside merges with the Man Inside, he knows himself to be not only the prayer but the answer also. As man feels this Divinity stirring and as It reaches forth to control his subjective life, Silence will become a part of his everyday living. But it must not become merely a means of receiving loaves and fishes. The I AM is indifferent to things because it recognizes nothing apart from Itself. It desires only man’s unity with Itself. In this unity man embodies his Good. In the intangible world of Spirit, all things needful to man are classified under the heading of Good. If we seek the supremacy of Good (God), we shall never lack. Not until we withdraw our thought from the relative plane are we able to cultivate our inner resources.

This room is not filled with air. It is filled with that thinking Substance and as you think into it and speak into it, it vibrates. As you cause it to vibrate, you bring it into form. No one else in the universe is responsible for my good or evil but myself, and instead of blaming fate for conditions, I should “treat” myself and analyze my consciousness. Then I shall discover that I have been thinking and speaking the thing which I have not desired in form. Every thought that goes from your brain is a vibration and brings its results negatively or positively. You cannot say one word without having it register in this universal thinking Substance which we call Mind.

The great Teacher said, “Man shall give an account for every idle word that he speaks.” Your day of judgment is now, and at this very time you may be having to face your own thoughts in the form of flesh and blood. “The word became flesh.” I can speak my body into a state of health, power or any other condition . . either negative or positive.

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” As you go to the office with thoughts of financial depression, you are vibrating this wonderful universal thinking Substance . . Mind . . and you are causing it to take negative forms. I cannot think without having the results of that thought. It is always cause and effect. “It has become apparent that however different one phenomenon is from another, the factors of both are the same, so that all the so-called forces of nature considered as objective things are reduced to nothing more mysterious than push and pull” . . a state of vibration. The things which we see are vibrating at the lowest rate and those which we cannot see are in the highest vibration.

The man or woman who lives in a high state of consciousness or high state of vibration is the one who is not so conscious of things. The people who have an unusual degree of wisdom are those who have learned to think in the higher realms of consciousness, and who have been in touch with these higher vibrations.

“The universe has a center which is its Source, and it has a periphery which is that part of itself farthest away from the Source, and in general it is shaped like a sphere, but its structure follows the plan of the pyramid. At the tip of the pyramid is the Source . . the Ultimate Being . . the I AM consciousness referred to as God. The Source at rest is in a condition of perfect balance and is all light, all power, and all truth, but in order to better understand itself it deliberately produces in itself a condition of imbalance and thus becomes creative, descending from its absolute state and dividing into two opposing but complementary forces . . Space and Time. Imbalanced, they descend into matter. Balanced, they ascend into Spirit.

“Except ye believe not that I AM he, ye shall die in your sins.” Do you know that no two in this room live in the same world. We are going home to different worlds tonight. We close our doors on entirely different worlds. We rise tomorrow and go to work, where we meet each other and meet others, but we live in different mental worlds, different physical worlds. I can only give what I AM, I have no other gift to give. If I want the world to be perfect, and who does not, I have failed only because I did not know that I could never see it perfect until I myself become perfect. If I AM not perfect I cannot see perfection, but the day that I become it, I beautify my world because I see it through my own eyes. “Unto the pure all things are pure.”

To reach the spiritual consciousness all mankind is striving for today, we must be ever conscious of the Divine Law of God; and to live that Law, we must be conscious of and know: I AM Immortal. I AM Invincible. I AM Power. I AM Mind. I AM Soul I AM Intelligence. I AM Life. I AM God.

Now meditate and think of what you have said, until you are conscious of what it really means. For example:

I AM Immortal: the God within me is Immortal, unchangeable and cannot be destroyed.

I AM Invincible: the God within me Is invincible, insuperable, unconquerable.

I AM Power: all things are possible for me if I know how to use my mind . . the God-power within me . . constructively; and think only good, love, happiness and prosperity.

By using my mind correctly, I AM a creator . . the creator of my universe in which I live, peopled by my thoughts, deeds and actions.

I AM Soul: Soul is Spirit manifested. Soul is Mother-God, Mother-nature, Mother-earth. Soul is all the Life, all the Power, all the Love, all the substance and intelligence in the Universe manifested.

I AM Intelligence: I am using all the intelligence in the universe if I am expressing the I AM, or God, within . . through love for all humanity, regardless of creed, color or nationality.

I AM Life: I AM the reflection of God. My physical body is my reflection . . my proof of how much of God I am expressing. It is the instrument through which God is expressing His Power and Life. It is my tangible proof of God.

I AM God: I AM God as Soul, Mind, Intelligence, Power and Life.

If you have meditated and thought intelligently of the above, you cannot possibly doubt that you . . the I AM . . are God.

God is Substance, God is my supply. His Substance now, through definite Law, is the supply of my experience. Every good thing comes to me, and only good goes out from me.” Suppose we do that and it does not work. Just remember this: Act as though I AM, and I will be.” That is one of the wisest things ever said. If we try and fail there is nothing to do but to try again, and perhaps try in a better way.

Perhaps we need to be a little more certain that we are not limiting the Divine Principle to what we consider as unchangeable facts.

God makes facts just as fast as God images, pictures, or contemplates His own Being. So out of our contemplation, out of our prayer or treatment, shall be established a new fact which shall correspond and be equivalent to the form of that idea envisioned in the treatment. Indwelling every soul there is a Divine Something, call It what you will, that is creative of our destiny.

DESIRE, THE WORD OF GOD

“So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth; it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it.”

God speaks to you through the medium of your basic desires. Your basic desires are words of promise or prophecies that contain within themselves the plan and power of expression.

By basic desire is meant your real objective. Secondary desires deal with the manner of realization. God, your I AM, speaks to you, the conditioned conscious state, through your basic desires. Secondary desires or ways of expression are the secrets of your I AM, the all wise Father. Your Father, I AM, reveals the first and last . . “I AM the beginning and the end” . . but never does He reveal the middle or secret of His ways; that is, the first is revealed as the word, your basic desire. The last is its fulfillment . . the word made flesh. The second or middle (the plan of unfoldment) is never revealed to man but remains forever the Father’s secret.

While meditating, an effort should always be made in the I AM consciousness to command the forces of the mind, the emotions, and the physical senses to be still and know that You . . the God of you . . speaks and must be obeyed.

Symbolically, man’s body has been likened to a triangle, divided horizontally into three parts, or the mystic fusion of the three aspects of his creator, consciousness, vibration and love. At the base of this triangle we have the material, the earthy aspects of life. In the middle we have the mental or intelligence side or aspect of life, and at the apex of the triangle we have the enlightening, the understanding, the illuminating, the conscious, the spiritual aspects of life, crowning the most sublime creature modeled by the intelligence that created all ideals.

Let us realize, therefore, that our life should be organized in all its factors, physical, mental and spiritual. Yes, because I have substance or material within my body temple, I must renew it. I have weight. I have movement. I occupy space. I have mind-stuff or consciousness within my body temple. I can think. I can use my five senses. I can will. I can enjoy. I can reason and realize. And I have Spirit within my body temple. I AM not only the Known, but I AM the Knower of it all.

If you lack abundance, or some friend is in need, command the I AM Power within you to bring forth out of the infinite abundance the wherewithal for these needs. If you do this in the right spirit, in the consciousness that God in you is doing the work, and that God expresses only in divine love, harmony, life and abundance, then you will know all the forces of the Universe will work together to the desired end, and in the Father’s good time it shall manifest.
