David Allen – The Power of I AM – Part 24

David Allen - The Power of I AM

By declaring our senses to be spiritual and by speaking the increasing word of the I AM to every one of them, we multiply their capacities and give them a sustaining vigor and vitality. This is done through the simple word of the I AM, backed up by the realization of its spiritual power.

This silent partner in all of us is all wise. You can call It God, if you like, or the Superconscious, the I AM, the Christ within, subconscious wisdom and intelligence or the Higher Self. The point is that this power and wisdom is within each of us, and it is our God given privilege to contact this Super Intelligence and apply It. The Bible says, Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.

Again, Moses stated, “I AM That I AM”. Now here is something to always bear in mind. You cannot put new wine in old bottles or new patches upon old garments. That is, you cannot take with you into the new consciousness any part of the old man. All of your present beliefs, fears and limitations are weights that bind you to your present level of consciousness. If you would transcend this level, you must leave behind all that is now your present self, or conception of yourself. To do this, you take your attention away from all that is now your problem or limitation and dwell upon just being. That is, you say silently but feeling to yourself, “I AM”. Do not condition this ‘awareness’ as yet. Just declare yourself to be, and continue to do so, until you are lost in the feeling of just being . . faceless and formless. When this expansion of consciousness is attained, then, within this formless deep of yourself give form to the new conception by FEELING yourself to be THAT which you desire to be. You will find within this deep of yourself all things to be divinely possible. Everything in the world which you can conceive of being is to you, within this present formless awareness, a most natural attainment.

“Two shall agree as touching anything and it shall be established on earth”.

This agreement is never made between two persons. It is between the awareness and the thing desired. You are now conscious of being, so you are actually saying to yourself, without using words, “I AM”. Now, if it is a state of health that you are desirous of attaining, before you have any evidence of health in your world, you begin to FEEL yourself to be healthy. And the very second the feeling “I AM healthy” is attained, the two have agreed. That is, I AM and health have agreed to be one and this agreement ever results in the birth of a child which is the thing agreed upon . . in this case, health. And because I made the agreement, I express the thing agreed. So you can see why Moses stated, “I AM hath sent me”. For what being, other than I AM, could send you into expression? None . . for “I AM the way . . Beside me there is no other”.

Moses reflected this general secrecy concerning names and about the Great Name in particular when he asked, “When I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM That I AM. It is a statement that has puzzled religious people down through the ages. In this tremendous statement we find the complete name of God. God is unconditioned being, incorporeal, without beginning or end, the eternal, ever ready, ever present help. Jesus further develops the idea when he says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” I AM That I AM is the complete and final name of God. Any other statement would limit Him in some way. So we begin to see that to know that name gives man power because it identifies the true nature of God. The more we understand the true nature of God the more we will understand our own natures and the power we possess. For make no mistake, there is power in your name when you know how to use it.

Your I AM neither expands nor contracts; nothing alters or adds to it. Before any defined state was, IT is. When all states cease to be, IT is. All defined states or conceptions of yourself are but ephemeral expressions of your eternal being. To be impressed is to be I’m-pressed (I AM pressed . . first person . . present tense). All expressions are the result of I’m-pressions. Only as you claim yourself to be that which you desire to be will you express such desires. Let all desires become impressions of qualities that are, not of qualities that will be. I’m (your awareness) is God and God is the fullness of all, the Eternal NOW, I AM. Take no thought of tomorrow; tomorrow’s expressions are determined by today’s impressions.

If man affirms his unity with the life, substance, and intelligence of God, I AM One with life, I AM One with Substance, I AM One with the intelligence of God, he lays hold of these spiritual qualities.

“I AM the resurrection and the life” is a statement of fact concerning my consciousness, for my consciousness resurrects or makes visibly alive that which I AM conscious of being.

Some of the magic of BEING “the Way” instead of trying to demonstrate an outside force, is shown in the movements of Jesus . . when “instantly he was on the other side of the lake” . . can you think that out . . or make a way by which this would be possible? I believe not . . you have to BE the WAY . . or can you imagine demonstrating the way through a crowd? Unless you discover this wonderful capacity something or somebody is continually blocking your progress . . but once you recognize it . . then you manifest it. You are the Spinner in the Sun. It is wonderful . . “I AM the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIGHT.” Your way is within you, chart your own Sky Lanes.
