David Allen – The Power of I AM – Part 23

David Allen - The Power of I AM

There is a rest after every creative process (this is referred to as the seven years) and as we continue creating and generating greater values in life, we go from glory to glory. “And there was neither hammer nor ax, nor any tool of iron heard in the house while it was in building.” We create only in the silence. We must learn the effortless way of life which is to “Be still and know that I AM God.” If we accept all our desires in consciousness by actually feeling the reality of the wish fulfilled, the objective manifestation of each desire will appear on the screen of space without our devising ways and means. Universal principles always set in motion methods of attainment.

If I can feel that I AM That which but a few seconds ago I knew I was not, but desired to be, then I AM no longer hungry to be it. I AM no longer thirsty because I feel satisfied in that state. Then something shrinks within me, not physically but in my feeling, in my consciousness, for that is the creativeness of man. He so shrinks in desire, he loses the desire to continue in this meditation. He does not halt physically, he simply has no desire to continue the meditative act.

I must contemplate my objective in such a manner that I get the reaction that satisfies. lf I do not get the reaction that pleases then Jericho is not seen, for Jericho is a fragrant odor. When I feel that I AM what I want to be I cannot suppress the joy that comes with that feeling. I must always contemplate my objective until I get the feeling of satisfaction personified as Jericho. Then I do nothing to make it visible in my world; for the hills of Gilead, meaning men, women, children, the whole vast world round about me, come bearing witness. They come to testify that I AM what I have assumed myself to be, and AM sustaining within myself. When my world conforms to my assumption the prophecy is fulfilled.

The only begotten son of God that is within all, within everything, that is the ruling power in every soul, the Supreme I AM in every soul, is never asleep. The statement that the Christ was asleep in the ship is metaphorical. It is not the Christ that is asleep, but our own consciousness of the Christ. When our own consciousness of the Christ is asleep we are not aware of his presence, and he seems to be asleep to us. When we are not aware of this great spiritual power within us, we are unconscious of that power; we are asleep, so to speak, as far as the existence of that power is concerned, and therefore will never think of awakening that power. But when we have attained sufficient spiritual discernment to know the power of the spirit in our own soul, we shall begin to call forth that power. From that moment higher power will be with us, and we shall no longer be victims of the tempest tossed sea; whenever the billows begin to toss or the storms begin to rage, we may call forth the Christ; he will always be with us, and will always respond to the call; he will answer our prayer with his own presence, and in his presence all is beautiful and still.

If you begin to think that because the earth is moving on its axis every twenty four hours bringing in day and night, and things are going to be better, you will remain confused. God is here now; the very Presence and Life of you. When you say, “I AM” that is God. We do not speak of God to come. God is here already . . your own I AMness . .  the Eternal Now. Accept your good now; unite with your desire in consciousness. Enter into the finished state of accomplishment. Let your psychological time clock be, “It is done!” “It is finished!”

All through history, back to the days of Babylon and Egypt, people have been led to believe that they needed an intermediary to approach God, and the Pharisees and the priesthood of Jesus’ time tried to do the same thing. However, Moses was instructed to tell the people that God dwells among His people, that the Word of Power is in their mouths and hearts . . I AM. That does not mean that someone else cannot pray for you or give you spiritual help. It means that you can and should go to God direct. Every time you say, “I AM,” you are using the power of God to bring certain things into your life, and what you bring will depend upon how you use the I AM and what you attach to it.

When you say, “I AM,” the natural question is, “I AM what?” It has to be qualified, and when you qualify it, you limit it. If you say, “I AM a man,” that means you are not a woman. “I AM an American” means you are not a Frenchman or a Spaniard. When you complete the I AM, you limit the expression in one way or another. But God is unlimited, I AM That I AM, unexpressed, creative power, Divine Mind waiting for expression. God has to be expressed, and Man is God in expression. I AM That I AM becomes I AM. Therefore Moses is told, “Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” Man is one with God, the self livingness of God, and thus he has the power to attach the I AM to all the attributes of God: freedom, joy, health, success, abundance. Always I AM connects you with Divine Power because you are the I AM of the I AM That I AM. I AM is the Word of Power. It is the presence of God in you. It insures that you can go direct to God, that you do not need any intermediary.

“I AM the beginning and the end” reveals my consciousness as the cause of the birth and death of all expression.

“I AM the vine and ye are the branches”. Consciousness is the ‘vine’ and those qualities which you are now conscious of being are as ‘branches’ that you feed and keep alive. Just as a branch has no life except it be rooted in the vine, so likewise things have no life except you be conscious of them. Just as a branch withers and dies if the sap of the vine ceases to flow towards it, so do things in your world pass away if you take your attention from them, because your attention is as the sap of life that keeps alive and sustains the things of your world. To dissolve a problem that now seems so real to you, all that you do is remove your attention from it. In spite of its seeming reality, turn from it in consciousness. Become indifferent and begin to feel yourself to be that which would be the solution of the problem.
