David Allen – The Power of I AM – Part 15

David Allen - The Power of I AM

God is Pure Spirit, Infinite Mind, and Infinite Intelligence. The Bible calls the Name of God, “I AM,” meaning Pure, Unconditioned Being. No one can, of course, define God, for God is Infinite, but there are certain Truths which the illumined of all ages have perceived as true of God, and that is why the Bible says, “I AM That I AM.” What is “I AM?” It is your True Being . . your Real Self; nobody can say, “I AM,” for you. That is the Presence of God in you, and your Real Identity. Whatever you affix to “I AM,” and believe, you become. Always claim, “I AM strong, powerful, radiant, happy, joyous, illumined, and inspired”; then you are truly practicing the Presence, for all these qualities are true of God.

Jesus also said, “If ye shall ask anything of the Father, he will give it you in my name” . . that is, in the name I AM. Whenever you desire . . not supplicate, but desire, speaking the “I AM” upward . . He will give what you ask. Every time you say, “I AM happy,” you ask in His name for happiness. Every time you say, “I AM unhappy,” you ask in His name for unhappiness.

If you wish to control and direct the forces you possess, you must act from the throne of your being, so to speak or in other words, from that conscious point in your mental world wherein all power of control, direction and initiative proceeds; and this point of action is the center of the “I AM.” You must act, not as a body, not as a personality, not as a, mind, but as the “I AM,” and the more fully you recognize the lofty position of the “I AM,” the greater becomes your power to control and direct all other things that you may possess. In brief, whenever you think or act, you should feel that you stand with the “I AM,” at the apex of mentality on the very heights of your existence, and you should at the same time, realize that this “I AM” is you . . the supreme you. The more you practice these methods, the more you lift yourself up above the limitations of mind and body, into the realization of your own true position as a masterful individuality; in fact, you place yourself where you belong, over and above everything in your organized existence.

On another occasion, when Jesus came into Caesarea Philippi, he questioned his disciples, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” In other words, “Who do the people think I AM?” And his disciples replied, “Some say that thou art John the Baptist; some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.” In passing, it should be noted that the people of that day had a strong belief in reincarnation, for they were in fact saying that Jesus was a reincarnation of one of the prophets. And then Jesus turned the question to the disciples themselves. “But whom say ye that I AM?” And Simon Peter answered and said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered, “Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” Jesus could say, and did, “I AM the Christ,” and so can you. Each one has a secret name known to God, and when you get your inspiration, your illumination, you will receive a new name. In Revelation we read, “To him that overcometh will I give . . a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.”

“Come up higher” . . you come up higher by being still and knowing that I AM (in midst of you) is God . . by recognizing your own divinity . . the Father within as a point where God can and does flow through into manifestation easily, naturally, unemotionally . . automatically. It cannot be otherwise.

By reason of the precious revelation of Jesus Christ . . “I AM the Truth, etc.” do you see that all the impersonal qualities of God can be embodied and become personal? Hence instead of using Love you are LOVE . . “I AM That I AM” what I AM? . . I AM Love . . Truth . . Light, . . and with each acceptance it comes into manifestation automatically in accordance with the degree of your recognition.

Timothy, said: “Let everyone that nameth the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.” Let everyone who speaks the “I AM” keep it separated from iniquity, or from false speaking. Let it be spoken always upward, never downward.

The day man feels “I AM free”, “I AM wealthy”, “I AM strong”, God . . I AM . . is touched or crucified by these qualities or virtues. The results of such touching or crucifying will be seen in the birth or resurrection of the qualities felt, for man must have visible confirmation of all that he is conscious of being. Now you will know why man or manifestation is always made in the image of God. Your awareness imag[in]es and out pictures all that you are aware of being. “I AM the Lord and besides me there is no God”. “I AM the Resurrection and the Life”.

Just as the law of gravity existed long before Newton became aware of it, so the Power of the Christ existed before Jesus, and “Before Abraham was . . I AM.” It is wonderful when you begin to perceive life and to know that is not something that was invented within the last hundred years, trademarked, copyrighted, and earmarked by a thousand personalities, all claiming the right to be the discoverer of God. In the realm of Spirit there is no “personal” brand on God. You may write your initials in fire on the side of a steer and show your possession, but trying to make a personal possession of God shows a feeble understanding of the Infinite. If God is all, what then is the protection thrown up about the discoveries of Him?

The “I AM” is fundamentally conscious: that is, the “I AM” knows what exists in the human field or in the human sphere and what is taking place in the human sphere; and that constitutes consciousness. In brief, you are conscious when you know that you exist and have some definite idea as to what is taking place in your sphere of existence.
