David Allen – The Power of I AM – Part 13

David Allen - The Power of I AM

ALL DAY LONG and every day, the God in You keeps repeating . . “I AM.” But He lets YOU end the sentence. You can add “poor” or “rich”, “sad” or “happy”, “sick” or “well,” as YOU choose. God can do for you only what you ALLOW Him to do THROUGH you. You praise and bless Him, only when you see the good and true and beautiful. You dishonor Him when you call yourself weak or sick or poor.

I AM a revelator of the Living Word . . I AM the revelator of the Living Word . . and I AM, therefore, not surprised that the thing decreed shall come to pass. A stone thrown into the air will certainly come down without any aid from the one who threw it; so the word of the revelator will certainly return to him freighted with results, and he will not have to care about its return . . that will automatically take place. “My own shall come unto me” . . by a sure and certain way. Why worry, then?

Dare you to say . . “Every day In every way I AM getting richer and richer”? If you dare . . and will follow up the word with the mental image of yourself HAVING all the riches you desire . . Spirit substance will make your word manifest and show you the way to riches.

When illumination lights your consciousness, it breaks forth like a burning flame into all your affairs. We have been taught to say, “My business is a success. My business succeeds and prospers,” but with insight, we no longer work for a successful business after this fashion, for this would be casting down our vision, it would be looking at the image and attempting to control it by certain means of the mind. With insight, we announce, “I AM success,” for it is Self that is the success and not the business. Is this clear to you? When you know who you are and why you are, then you know yourself as you are known, and you understand intelligently that because of your being, you are inherently a success, and it is said of you, “All that thou doest shall prosper.”

The trouble with many people is this: When they pray, they are tense, anxious, and impatient. They say, “I wonder when it will come?” Others say, “Why has it not happened yet? If I say, “Why?” it means I AM anxious and lack faith. If I know a thing is true, I do not question my prayer. Let us remember, therefore, anytime we ask, “Why?” to ourself or another, it means we have not reached a conviction within ourselves. When we possess something in consciousness, we do not seek it; we have it! Another point I want to stress here is: When the student questions, “How will it come?” he shows lack of faith and conviction. By illustration, I AM now in Los Angeles, I do not ask, “How will I get there?” I AM there. Similarly when our ideal is fixed in consciousness, we do not wonder, “How will I get there?” I AM there already. Where your consciousness is, you are. “Where I AM there you will be also.”

Any expression that is not felt is unnatural. Before anything appears, God, I AM, feels itself to be the thing desired; and then the thing felt appears. It is resurrected; lifted out of the nothingness. I AM wealthy, poor, healthy, sick, free [or] confined were first of all impressions or conditions felt before they became visible expressions.

I AM He. Right now, I AM overshadowing you, the reader, my living temple, with my presence, urging upon you a new expression. Your desires are my spoken words. My words are spirit and they are true and they shall not return unto me void but shall accomplish where unto they are sent [“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it”. They are not something to be worked out. They are garments that I, your faceless, formless self, wear. Behold! I, clothed in your desire, stand at the door (your consciousness) and knock. If you hear my voice and open unto me (recognize me as your savior), I will come in unto you and sup with you and you with me [“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. Just how my words, your desires, will be fulfilled, is not your concern. My words have a way ye know not of. Their ways are past finding out.

We can so fill ourselves with the drawing power of attraction that it will become irresistible. Nothing can hinder things from coming to the man who knows that he is dealing with the same power that creates all from itself, moves all within itself, and yet holds all things in their places. I AM one with the Infinite Mind. Let this ring through you many times each day until you rise to that height that, looking, sees.

When we accept an idea from another mind, or from our own study simply because it seems plausible, we will permit that idea to impress itself upon the subconscious, provided it is deeply felt. Later on that same idea will come back from the subconscious as a strong conviction; and we shall not only be forced to accept it as true, but in addition it will color all our thinking; in fact, it may become so strong that we do not care to be free from its absolute control. There are many illustrations of this very thing, as there are quite a number of people who are in such complete bondage to the mental control of the beliefs they cherish that they actually take pride in being under such absolute control; in brief, they frequently declare, “I AM completely in the hands of this system of thought and I AM glad of it.”

By example if you want to be a singer on the radio, imagine you are before a microphone; the microphone is now in front of you, and you see the imaginary audience; you are the actor. (“Act as though I AM, and I will be.”) You feel yourself into the situation; you are singing now (in your imagination); enter into the joy of it; feel the thrill of accomplishment! Continue to do this in your imagination until it begins to feel natural for you; then go off to sleep. If you have succeeded in planting your desire in your subconscious mind, you will feel a great sense of peace and satisfaction when you awaken. An interesting thing will have happened: You will have no further desire to pray about it, because it is fixed in consciousness. The reason for this is that the creative act has been finished, and you are at rest.

“I AM alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord.” Our ideal murmuring in our hearts is the alpha; in order that it become the omega, we must enter into the feeling that it is ours now, and walk the earth knowing that it is so.
